
Todd started playing the trumpet at age 8. When he reached the eighth grade,
Todd began to teach himself the electric bass guitar.
He continued to play both instruments throughout his high school years.
Todd attended UMASS Dartmouth for two years
as a double major in music performance.
He studied classical trumpet with Gene Crissafulli as well as
jazz studies with
Todd Baker on the contrabass. After four semesters at UMASS,
Todd transferred to Rhode Island College to pursue his degree in music education.
He spent the remainder of his undergraduate work at Rhode Island College
studying classical contrabass with David Cobb. He graduated with a bachelor's of science in 1995.
In 2000, Todd received his Master's degree in school counseling.
Todd is a school teacher in the West Warwick public school system.
He has been a band director there since 1995, and as the founding member of BLOCKHEAD,
he
contributes not only unsurpassed bass prowess, but excellent vocals, great stage presence
and his personality is the key to the great success BLOCKHEAD has had over the years.

Todd has played with numerous groups in the southeastern area.
He joined a band named Broken Toys when he was eighteen years old.
Broken Toys was together over ten years. During that time he has filled in with numerous bands
such as Steve Smith & the Nakeds, Touch, Strutt and Bob's Day Off to name a few.
Over the last few years, Todd has been playing the contra bass in the creative music genre.
He has played and/ or recorded with many talented musicians, such as
Tatsuya Nakatani, Kevin Frenette, Andy McWain, Jonathan LaMaster,
Andrew Hickman, Eric VanDam, Gabe Cabral and Eric Platz.
He recently played on the recording Kevin Frenette 4, “Connections,"
a 2007 release featuring Kevin Frenette (guitar), Andy McWain (piano),
and Tatsuya Nakatani (percussion).
