

Drummer
Mike Alves studied drums and percussion at the Hartt School of Music and the
University of Lowell.
Mike had the privilege of working
such as Fred Buda and Neil
Grover of the Boston Symphony/Pops and
Al Lepak and Rosemary Small of the
Hartford Symphony. He also studied Jazz Arranging,
Jazz History and did extensive
ensemble work under the direction of
writer/arranger/trumpeter Everett Longstreth,
saxophone great
Jackie Mclean and writer/arranger/pianist Jackie Byard.

AfterMike continued his work as a freelance percussionist/drummer
around the east coast playing everything from stage shows and parades to jazz
and contemporary club dates.
Over the years, he has performed with many local
area favorites such as Hollywood, FM, Xcape, The Kidds, Broken Toys,
Roger
Ceresi and the Rock and Soul Horns, and What Matters. He has built a reputation
of being
one of the most technically solid and versatile drummers in the area.
His educational background,
performance experience and unique approach to
the drums make him one of the most
sought after musicians in New England.
He is a key component in the group's musical chemistry.
